I am after a map of Australia, wherein if one clicks on a state, he can go to data linked to that map. Is there anywayout or downloadable map or so which I can link.
e.g. http://www.realestate.com.au/

My husband and I are looking to relocate to Charlotte, NC. I’m looking at the Charlotte area maps plus realtor.com but I’m a bit confused. On realtor.com most house locations are described in area numbers and subdivisions. Would anyone be willing to view these area numbers and the streets associated within to tell me what is the best place to look? The site is: http://www.realestate-charlotte.com/Property_Tax_Rates/page_208967.html

I just want to know if a house listing says (for example) "Area 2" if that’s a good thing or a bad thing. Please let me know which area numbers to avoid.

The problem is that there are good and bad areas in all of the Areas. I wouldn’t live in Charlotte although I do work there. Just looking at the map, I would avoid areas 1 & 2 all together. Areas 4 5 & 6 are probably the prime areas but have some bad spots closer to center city. The areas off of I-485 in the south of the county are probably the nicest. The flip side is the bad traffic and real estate prices are pretty high. Like most big cities the further you get from uptown the better it gets. Matthews and Mint Hill are nice as well as the North Meck area Huntersville Cornelius and Davidson. If you want to live out of county and commute in Gaston and Cabarrus are probably the easiest commute. I-85 tends to run smoother that I-77. If you have to have a Charlotte address I would consider the established neighborhoods on the west side of town like Coulwood. These have always stuck me as undervalued. The inner westside is pretty rundown but this area has some nice homes and the surrounding land has not been fully developed like the rest of the county. Some of the newer developments have become instant slums due to the housing mortgage crisis.

I just noticed that Yahoo! Real Estate redesigned their site with a lot of maps and cool tools. I especially like the home values and the local market research section that shows you the number of listings and average price in any area. What do you think?
